After church today, I followed Melissa's recommendation and made a trip to Great Falls National Park in McLean, VA. The park is only about half an hour from Fairfax; however, since today was a no-fee day at the park, I spent about an hour waiting in a long line of cars to enter. I saw about 20 cars give up and leave before I finally made it into the park, but once I was inside, I knew the visiting it was worth the wait. The park is home to a magnificent watefall- one of the most beautiful wonders of nature that I have ever seen, and even though there were many people there today, most of them were confined to the picnic areas and observation platforms leaving plenty of place where I could enjoy the serenity of nature.
